Tips 31.07 - 04.08

Go Itami (Friday 02.08 @ Motto)

Longing for holidays far away from concrete and steel? Our advice is to surround yourself with best of Berlin: art, music, good food and nice things. Take a look at our tips and you may find out that beaches are overrated anyway.

14.00 Atonal Berlin @ Kraftwerk

WHY: For its closing night concert Berlin Atonal bids farewell with Z''ev, Jacaszek and Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble - shows based around live instrumentation and experimentation. Day program includes a lecture on early audio-visual practice within the spectrum of noise, a presentation of the ideas and processes behind “computer music for hooligans”, and a performative installation. The closing party takes place in Shift with Deadbeat, Mike Shannon and Jeff Milligan.

17.00 Footnotes @ Node

WHY: Node opens its doors to the public to present the Summer curatorial residents' workspace and aspects of their current research. They have paired up with Berlin-based artists to illuminate the research and references behind the practice of each of these artists', without showing any artwork. The curators' individual desks will serve as a device for presenting the typically unseen content behind an artist's work.
