ACTIVIST NEUROAESTHETICS CONFERENCE July 8th- 11th, online, free with registration

We are on the verge of a paradigm shift as we transition from a knowledge and information economy to a neural-based one. The advent of an assortment of new technologies like brain-computer interfaces, cortical implants and attention enhancing drugs will join sophisticated forms of artificial intelligence and constitute what is already being referred to as neoliberal neural capitalism. The ACTIVIST NEUROAESTHETICS Conference will include a number of important artists and thinkers addressing questions arising from this development, among them Elena Agudio, Yann Moulier Boutang, Juli Carson, Yves Citton, Arne de Boever, Jacquelene Drinkall, Agnieszka Kurant, Karen Lofgren, Anna Munster, Reza Negarestani, Warren Neidich, Florencia Portocarrero, Tony David Sampson, and Anuradha Vikram.

SØREN AAGAARD PREPPER'S LAB ( A COOKING TALKSHOW) SAT 10. JULY, 5PM @tropez_tropez

The Prepper’s Lab will look at the idea of preparing and achieving skills. It wants to investigate if and how the prepper phenomenon and self-sufficiency relate to each other. To examine this in a more detailed but non-linear way, Søren Aagaard has stumbled upon sourdoughs, preservation methods, microorganisms, DIY trends, survival skills, outdoor gear, crisis, gut flora, catastrophic thinking, distrust of the elite and counterculture. The Prepper’s Lab will surf the internet, read books, build stuff, cook food and invite different guests and friends to find out and learn more about prepping. For the first of two cooking shows Søren will be joined by Theda Bartolomaeus, food technologist and microbiome researcher, as well as Markus Shimizu, founder of mimi ferments, a fermentation lab in Berlin-Moabit.

Jakob Kudsk Steensen's transforms the Halle am Berghain into a swamp, exploring its ecology and mythology - and YOU get to pay 10Eu to see it!

The exhibition and online world Berl-Berl starts with a swamp as its protagonist – its ecosystem, history and mythologies – and pays tribute to Berlin's origin as a wetland that formed over 10,000 years ago, and was drained in the 1700s. ‘Berl’, the ancient Slavic word for swamp, is thought to be the origin of ‘Berlin’ and gives the exhibition its name. (Ahm…why didnt we know about this?)
No Bullshit alert: this is not an actual wetland, but a simulation
