FUTURE PERFECT

FUTURE PERFECT

Well, well well… last time I heard about Mike Ruiz he was operating a project space out of his Kreuzberg living room, back when Aids3d was a thing and now he has opened a space in NY with partly embezzled moneys? Allegedly. Ha. Isn't he an artist himself?! Show some labor solidarity, bro.

Read this article, I mean, there are some textbook con moves there:  “When I contacted the gallery, they told me that they thought I owed them a fairly high sum of money for production costs, and Ruiz said he intended to sell my work and keep 100 percent of the profits until this high sum was covered.” --- and I cannot say I HAVENT TOLD YOU SO. Keep track of your work, stupid. Read my A-Z guide for artists gallery relationships here. I named a recent work “Pay Your Fucking Artists”; the gallery did not feature it at a recent art fair, I can't think of why.

Opening Thursday Nov 11, 19h- @hausamluetzowplatz presents VERENA ISSEL PANDORA PAPERS at exhibition space IG Metall. The title of the exhibition refers to the largest leak to date about so-called tax havens, the existence of which was published by the international network of investigative journalists on October 2, 2021. Among other things, a new series of works from, well, felt will be shown. The old art technique with domestic connotations is used at Issel for friendly, colorful, soft pictures of people and their machinations.

Opening Thursday Nov 11, 17-20h @galerie_eigenart: TITUS SCHADE, UMLAND. The protagonists in Titus Schade’s disconcerting and refreshingly bewildering paintings are architectures that seem like stage sets presented like props on shelves resembling typesetting cases, on tables, or in deserted, bleak landscapes and as motifs on Delft tiles.

UNTIL DEC 4TH AT AXEL OBIGER 16-22H: SEIT WIR LETZTENS ÜBER ZUKUNFT SPRACHEN
with Juliane Duda und Hanna-Mari Blencke
Base Motives, Mac Reality, Nothing New are names of Juliane Duda's new photographic works, in which, as so often, constructed naturalness fails beautifully. They meet sculptures on which some affirmative comments have been passed down: If Hilma af Klint's pictures were to hump traffic signs, the offspring would probably resemble Hanna-Mari Blencke's sculptures. The organic-looking objects postulate an intrinsic constructivism based on colour-intensive abstraction.
