Galerie Georg Nothelfer
The Georg Nothelfer Gallery was founded by Georg Nothelfer in 1971. For 30 years, the gallery was located in Uhlandstraße, in the centre of West Berlin. In 2008, the gallery moved to spacious rooms in the Tiergarten Triangle. In autumn 2010, the showroom Galerie Georg Nothelfer was opened in Charlottenburg. Georg Nothelfer managed the business until his death. Since October 2020, his long-time employees Irene Schumacher and Vera Ehe have continued to run the gallery. The gallery sees itself as a programme gallery. For 50 years, it has taken a classical position in the ever-changing market and presents Informel, Tachism and gestural painting as its main focus, but also shows contemporary art that deals with the legacy of post-war abstract expressionism. In addition, a large number of publications and artists' editions have been produced under Georg Nothelfer. Approximately six solo and group exhibitions are held annually. The national and international exhibitions are of particular importance for the gallery.
