WHY: In her performances and GIF-video works, Anna Bone shifts art history's landmarks into experimental slap-stick horror scenes. Michael Cherubim expresses the search for inventive images in contemporary painting, which results in an illusionary display conflicting with the medium’s surface. Lennart Rieder scrutinizes painting techniques; with straight-forward tools he alters familiar depictions of the collective cultural memory, questioning them with new answers.

WHY: Visit Maniere Noire this Friday to meet, exchange, and clink glasses for its great success: as one of the Berlin Senate's awarded spaces, this ambitious little gallery is celebrating its well-deserved reward, and cheering to many more inspiring meetings of curious people and ideas to come. WHY: Conceived as a living environment, the exhibition „Aggregate“ forms the framework for more than 80 performers, who together with the visitors define the exhibition space in a swarm movement. Based on embodied memories that negotiate fragments of the common world heritage, the work referrs to mankind’s attempt to preserve essential aspects of its existence in time capsules, in order to make it available for other, alien species.
