Nathan graduated with degrees in Photomedia and Animal Behavior at the age of 19, and wrote his two theses on narcissism and monkey populations in Indonesia respectively. Described by a reporter as "tallish, lean and matter-of-fact", Nathan was an unsurprising child model, though his career lasted only one cycle of Halloween costumes. He was validated while auditioning for a televised national singing competition, where he was given a gold star "because the producers thought you'd look good on T.V." and cut shortly thereafter.
