Zyrland Zoiropa is a project space that supports artists who work as part of the art handling/artist assistant/artist technician scene. The concept for the space was founded on the realization that many practicing artists make money by working as assistants for other artists and as art handlers for galleries. Although these jobs and places of employment can be supportive for artists, they can also be detrimental to an artist's practice in that they can borrow an artist's time, steal their skills and destroy their spirit. ZZ is a space that supports this class of artists within an art scene, with a focus on artists who have a studio-based hands-on approach to art making.
