Robin Schubert: Instinctual Forms

Robin Schubert, representing the new generation of sound sculpture artists, presents the vulnerable shape of communal work and resistance. “Instinctual Forms” sheds aesthetic appreciation and emerges as a speculative realm of queer ecology,  ritual weaving, and acknowledging the tension. This exhibition begs the question: Will the noise be enough?

“Instinctual Forms”, the first solo exhibition of Robin Schubert, is the culmination of a year of research, exploration, play, and grief. Schubert examines Sculptural Objects as Instruments, and Instruments as vessels for ritual, storytelling, and embodiment of collectivity. Through the questioning and probing practices of Queer Futuring and Speculative Fiction, this exhibition asks and provides tentative, ephemeral, and concrete examples of possible answers. Mimicking forms and figures found in nature provides alternative pathways to these answers, stepping beyond the institutions and oppression by taking inspiration from these emergent systems.
The exhibition holds sculptural work, interactive installations, paintings stretched on bedframes, zines, viscera, performance, noise, splinters, and love.

Exhibition is open from May 24th 7PM until May 30th 4PM
