(a stereoscopic dance retrospective)

Billy Cowie’s "Real Fakes" is a looping thirty minute installation featuring excerpts from four of his most recent international commissions. All the works envelop the performers in visual landscapes specially created for the pieces by the German artist Silke Mansholt. The pieces are filmed in state of the art stereoscopic shutter vision so that it appears the performers are actually in the same space as the audience, indeed in some versions of Art of Movement the 3D dancers are joined by real dancers who are indistinguishable from them.
