Tips 22.03 - 04.04
Traditional holiday traps are hard to avoid (especially the binging part). If you somehow manage to get past all that excessive eating, drinking, and most of all partying because the weekend is long, you will be left with lots of time and energy for quality gallery hopping. Here's what you *really* should not miss in the following days.

WHY: This month's OPENHAUS accentuates the variety of disciplines and the complexity of their interactions at ZK/U. From visual and sound pieces that deal with reflections of the sun, to artworks that speak to the immigrant crises both past and present, performative installations and electronic activism workshops. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet the artists in residency and explore ZK/U’s space and surroundings.

19.00 UNEARTHED @ Rockelmann&
WHY: In the group show „UNEARTHED“, eighteen international artists integrate clay as a medium in their practice, bringing forth issues of class, gender, and sexuality in raw and rare „unearthly“ forms. The exhibition takes inspiration from past rebellious groups of artists who founded the outsider ceramics movement, such as Kenneth Price, Jerry Rothman, and John Mason. It honours this history, but also allows the viewer a rare chance to see the emergence of new names and works.
Rockelmann& / Schönleinstr. 5, 10967 Berlin, U Schönleinstr. / open through 21.05 / free entry / more info
THURSDAY 31.03
19.00 Buffet d'art @ Meinblau Projektraum
WHY: „Buffet d'art“ showcases an array of artists, all of whom have been invited to bring along a buffet size piece of work, to be perused on a plinth. The show will be a meleè of mismatched yet aspiring works, some with delusions of grandeur, others grubby with spillage and monotonous repetition, set to a medley of smooth and relaxing music, designed to whet the senses and heighten your experience of these buffet-inspired memories.
Meinblau Projektraum / Christinenstr. 18-19, 10119 Berlin, U Senefelderplatz / open through 10.04 / free entry / more info
19.00 Fee Kleiss – „Toast Hawaii“ @ Platform-Berlin
WHY: Ascending the escalator stairs at Kleistpark U-Bahn Station, a brilliant explosion of color and form come into view. A variegated biome of the artist’s imagination has sprouted. Delicate slender sticks stretch effortlessly upright, contrasted next to squat, soft tumescent sculptures. Solid droplets descend the walls and sculptural form gracefully extends itself to the two dimensionality of the painted canvas... Platform-Berlin presents „Toast Hawaii“ - an installation by the German painter and sculptor Fee Kleiss.
Platform-Berlin / U-Bahn station Kleistpark, 10827 Berlin / ongoing until 15.04 / more info

SATURDAY 02.04
19.00 Lorenzo Sandoval - „Deep Surface“ @ L'atelier-ksr
WHY: In his exhibition, „Deep Surface“, accompanied by a program of interventions at L’Atelier-ksr, Lorenzo Sandoval will present a site-specific body of work, sorted in three parts. „Broken Parliament“, „Curriculum Vitae“ and „Deep Surface“ navigate over spaces while referring to the lack of solid references, a sort of gel-form that characterizes the society of advanced capitalism. His expansive projects are spatial storytellers and include the presence of other practitioners, which become almost equally valuable parts of a more complex whole.
L'atelier-ksr / Grossbeerenstr. 34, 10965 Berlin, U Mehringdamm / open through 07.05 / free entry / more info
