TRANSFORMATION X ∙ FIONA KELLY June 14 to 25th at Temporäre Galerie on Campus Rütli 

Fiona Kelly had been planning a performance with the voices of 200 women at the @kindlberlin staircase in Berlin-Neukölln, to take place in 2020. The project had to adapt to the pandemic, and thus, she has been collecting these voices through the interactive website www.stimmenmeer.com. The website is designed around eight female figures and invites women to tell their own versions of the proposed stories. Fiona Kelly and other female artists propose text, image, video, music or textiles workshops, through which potentially ∞-many more diverse stories can emerge. These stories are held together by the water-woman-figure KORO - the SeeH spider. In the Temporäre Galerie, KORO is spreading her net, which Fiona Kelly has been weaving on site since January 2021. Each new voice, of the potentially ∞-many, is continuously woven into the ‚overall network‘. During the exhibition, the audience can follow the transformation of the voices and stories on site and is invited to help shape the network.

THE UNEXPECTED CAN OCCUR, AS LONG AS IT FOLLOWS THE LOGIC OF THINGS- MAREIKE JACOBI- ARTIST TALK  June 20th 15-16h: Mareike Jacobi explores the possibilities she finds within self-limitation, asking herself what is actually more confining–the framework she has narrowly defined or, even the limits of her own imagination? Jacobi’s graphic works are based on an aleatory form-finding process: using a complex set of rules, the artist defines intersections in a grid by using a dice. From this basis she creates variations of geometric patterns. It is an interaction of chance, conscious decisions, and unconscious preferences.

New Space on Bpigs ( and in Berlin!): LEBENSMITTEL: The small store is labeled with a huge Lebensmittel sign. It has been a grocery store, a cleaning company, a second-hand store, and an office. Next, the store wants to open up and become an art and project space, addressing topics such as work, finances, collaboration, care work, maintenance and the entanglements within everyday life from a feminist perspective. Like us, the space wants to be independent. Can we develop a concept in a collective process that will make the store self-sustainable? How can we, as a group, come together to artistically address these issues? Which strategies can we imagine that could lead us out of our precarious life as artists? Get involved!
