Music Tips Xmas & NYE Special

Music Tips Xmas & NYE Special

Determined to prove that Berlin is not completely emptied and closed down around Christmas holidays, and that alternatives to getting unpleasantly drunk before queueing for hours in front of clubs on New Year's Eve DO exist, here we bring a motley selection of events in the following weeks.

PS. We want to keep the list open till the last day of 2015. Stay tuned for more entries, and if you happen to know of a fun and offbeat NYE fiesta, do tell! We will be happy to receive suggestions to editors@bpigs.com – and share it with the rest.

FRIDAY 25.12

20.00 Einstürzende Neubauten @ Radialsystem V

WHY: In the latest album and performance project „Lament“ by Einstürzende Neubauten, two of the oldest musical forms of lament - lament and motet - are carefully combined using the innovative techniques of the band, along with audio files from prisoners of WWI, creating a unique composition. This award winning piece will be performed for the very last time at Radialsystem V on four consecutive days, starting on Christmas.

The French Berlin-based photographer and video artist exposes the audience to a recomposed and decontextualised landscape, whilst diving into music that follows the rhythms of nature. With transition as the overarching theme - transition of appearance, of perception, of self - the night will include unique performances with the coreographer Kiani del Valle, meant to arouse the senses, transcend the mind, and transform the space. Throughout the night, the audience will be invited to experience and interact with the performance. And of course, party accordingly with the very-Berlin fashion & music crowd.
