WHY: A L'ARME! Berlin Jazz and Soundart meeting is back after one year break. The third edition of this international festival brings an interdisciplinary star line-up, which includes electro-acoustic sound art, audiovisual performances, as well as contemporary choreography. In four days – from the grand opening at Berghain to the long Saturday night at Radialsystem V – 50 international artists will join for the exclusive festival productions, world premieres and musical encounters.

WHY: One of the most interesting editions of Grand Jeté series comes up this week with a stellar line-up: live show by raster-noton's cofounder Olaf Bender aka Byetone, DJ sets by Hitchie Rawtin (not Richie Hawtin!), Lucrecia Dalt, and the resident VSQ. Grand Jeté is a series od music events at OHM, presenting electronic live acts sharing the stage with several DJs on five Thursdays from July to November 2015. WHY: For the last sixteen years, Sunn O))) have been challenging the way we think about music. The core members Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson have forged connections between the worlds of metal, drone, contemporary composition, jazz, and minimalism. For their two shows at Heimathafen Neukölln (Saturday & Sunday), Sunn O))) will appear with a 4 piece line-up featuring frequent collaborators Attila Csihar and Tos Nieuwenhuizen alongside Anderson and O'Malley.

WHY: With Yen Tech, Mind:Body:Fitness, Kamixlo, Mechatok and Larry, this is going to be one special Creamcake night. In the spotlight is Yen Tech – the meta-pop project of rapper/singer/producer Nick Newlin. Warping through a multitude of genres and styles, Yen Tech's musical and visual output creates a universe where hyper conceptual performance meets K-Pop celebrity status updates. Since first debuting at Art Basel in 2012, Yen Tech has released a stream of music video singles and mix tapes. His debut album "Mobis" will be released later this year.

WHY: Forty years after the release of her debut album „Horses“, Patti Smith honors its lasting influence with a series of special shows centered around the album. “It will be a true, proud celebration,” queen Patti says of her intent to perform „Horses“ in its entirety. She will be accompanied by two members of the original group, Lenny Kaye and Jay Dee Daugherty, along with bassist / keyboardist Tony Shanahan, who has been a part of Her Band for twenty years.

WHY: As the name implies, the band around Californian songwriter genius Ty Segall is a fuzzed killer rock formation with early metal and stoner sound. It is the band's first German show ever; „riffing the riffs like there was no tomorrow, and maybe there isn't“. Sick Horse are playing support. The guys are also members of Modern Pets, Needle Exchange, Häxxan and various other local bands. Classic r'n'r meets 70s punk, country & 60s influences.

20.00 Where To Now? label night @ Kantine am Berghain
WHY: Where To Now? Records partner up with CTM Festival and Berlin Current to present a night of forward thinking electronic weirdness. The event serves as both a label-showcase and release party for Berlin residents Jesse Osborne-Lanthier and Moon Wheel’s new albums. The two are joined by fellow Berlin Current and WTN? artist KETEV, and a special guest performance from prolific Canadian artist FDG - (ex Hobo Cubes). Expect an evening where mutated and damaged techno harmoniously slides alongside immersive, intricate soundscape work, and full blown experimentation.

WHY: Unique double concert with two of the greatest American neo-psych-folk bands! Tim Presley aka White Fence will be presenting his new album "For The Recently Found Innocent", for which he left his lo-fi bedroom studio to make 14 brand new songs together with Ty Segall. The new album is a wondrous mix of psychedelic pop, garage-rock and noise. The freak-folk / psych-folk project Woods will be playing as the opening act.
