The Kühlhaus Berlin is one of the new places in the city. It is part of the architecture of the early industrial history of Berlin at the Gleisdreieck, which only fragmentarily survived the war and the years of reconstruction. Today, it is a place that has moved. A place that redefines itself.
Through a private initiative of artists, architects and Berlin companies, planning for the demolition was stopped in the early nineties and the house was put under monument protection. Since then, other companies and many private individuals have been actively involved in the renovation and reconstruction of the house.
Construction and space for art, concerts and events - this is how the house now presents itself on seven floors with a variety of unusual rooms and architectural situations, with a total of over 5000 square meters. A place of encounter and creativity that is open to partnerships, impulses, ideas - open to the city.
