Art Claims Impulse was founded in London in 2000 by Pierre Wolter and Melanie Zagrean and, after a break due to a lack of time caused by overlaps, reopened in September 2006. From the beginning Art Claims Impulse had a focus on media art, installation, and performance. Since 2006 we have been promoting contemporary artists and works of art with an unusual approach, which is innovative in thematic, technical, and aesthetic terms. In 2008 we recognized, that with our program, which does not correspond to the mainstream, we have to invest much more in art education as there were very large gaps in experience and knowledge of the genres we feature. Therefore, we started with our own curations and research projects (*Research: In corporation with We Explore It) Transmediale and the Goethe Institute.
Artists that are or were a part of Art Claims Impulse since the foundation: Julius von Bismarck, Mihai Grecu, Sergio Cruz, Flatform, Mader-Stublic-Wiermann, Nia Burks, Wolfgang Spahn, Dave Ball, Mario Asef, Petja Ivanova, Patty Woltmann, Silvia Lorenz, Dani Ploeger, Maria Vedder, Mattias Härenstam, Jannike Laker, and many more.
