Von Micro bis Makro – über die Schönheit der Natur

Galerie Axel Obiger is happy to present an exhibition of the artists Nurit Bar-Shai (NY) and Alke Brinkmann (Berlin). Both recruit nature as the origin of the work on display.

Nurit Bar-Shai´s body of work explores the complex network systems of smart microorganisms as exceptionally beautiful and rare image patterns. It looks into biological systems of self-organization, collective decisionmaking and the immense complexity within seemingly simple structures. Using scientific methodologies and artistic inquiries, like sound frequencies and 3-D surfaces, Bar Shai achieves varied results with slight alterations in initial settings. Alke Brinkmann has explored landscape-painting for many years. In her new paintings she plays with abstract and figurative forms. Brinkmann aims to capture the wilderness and beauty of a forest near her hometown Berlin. She also takes us into the universe, to take a look at the genesis of the stars.
