UNEARTHED

Unearthed runs parallel to our digital era. We are constantly reminded of our concerns about concealing our identities and our personal information from systematic surveillance.

Unearthed hacks into this system and leaves behind its traces in it. The viewer gets a glimpse of these traces through human effects on material. Unearthed is undoubtedly built from the human touch; its DNA is impossible to hide. Unearthed is present, visceral, and real.

Co-Curated by: Geo Gonzalez and Dan HalmGroup Exhibition with works by: Tyler Beard, Marnie Bettridge, Sabine Bokelberg, Monika Grabuschnigg, Dan Halm, Anat Homm, Stephanie Imbeau, Florian Japp, Christian Lord, Ben Peterson, Doug Ryes, Su-Ran Sichling, Madeline Stillwell, Megan Stroech, Katy Stubbs, Lucy Teasdale, Carolin Wachter, and Unknown Artist.

Normally I arrange the slab of clay with other works of mine, It is an object that I’ve had for a longtime and it stays in relation to my work and mindset.

Some thoughts and notes formed about the slab: For me it is a kind of third eye, established in 2013.

It`s my "personal escort."

Some thoughts and notes formed about the slab of clay. Is it the beginning or the end of something? Does it need more? Each new arrangement leaves an external mark on the slab. Mould formation and desiccation modifies the slab steadily.
Internally the slab is still living.“
