PSF 2015: An evening with Adrian Melis

On the occasion of his exhibition project at centrum the artist Adrian Melis will give a presentation talking about his previous and current work, that invests the cultural and social value of labour in the artist's home country of Cuba and his new resident country, Spain.

Adrian Melis in his work poses questions about the conditions and the cultural and social value of work both under socialism in his native country Cuba and in Europe’s current neo-liberal societies. In exhibitions, Melis shows the results of his investigation of the conditions and the value of labour as videos, photographs, or installations. Often providing the works with a factual realism through the display of names and number of his collaborators, Melis creates works, which are paradoxically both serial and personal. Melis’ installation at centrum is his first exhibition project in Berlin.
