PAR(I)TY WITH US The two gallery spaces will feature a symbiosis of international artists and a solo presentation by renowned artist Janine Mackenroth. Together with SALOON Berlin board member Sarah Maske, she has developed the exhibition concept for Gallery Weekend: Mackenroth will keep the walls of the gallery's second room free for her colleagues. She will cover the floor with millions of shredded Euro banknotes, which she will "lay at the feet", so to speak, of the works of the artists from the SALOON network. Mackenroth is currently working with the colors of the EURO banknotes, which can be found both as a nail polish edition and in her paintings. The new nail polish "ONE HUNDRED EURO GREEN", priced at 100 euros, is being released especially for the opening. "PAR(I)TY WITH US goes beyond the mere representation of art and challenges viewers to think about the need for a reorganization in the art world," explains Sarah Maske, one of the curators of the exhibition. Together with her colleagues, she has shared the call in the international SALOON network to exhibit the lack of female positions at Gallery Weekend 2024 - and thus make a statement. "We not only want to highlight the inequalities, but also show alternative ways of achieving gender parity in art. In addition, the subtitle suggests that all the works shown in the exhibition will potentially be worth a lot more and gives a nod towards buying art for its potential to increase in value." Visitors are invited to actively participate in discussions about gender parity in art and help shape the art world's future.
