OSTKREUZ. Into the West

Charlottenburg is undergoing a new phase of urbanisation. After years out of the spotlight, the district is currently experiencing a boom. Commercial spaces are being filled again, Bikini Haus is being extensively renovated, and a high-rise building has been constructed next to the Gedächtniskirche. C/O Berlin has asked 14 photographers from the agency OSTKREUZ to explore the theme of Charlottenburg and its residents. Jörg Brüggemann, Espen Eichhöfer, Sibylle Fendt, Annette Hauschild, Harald Hauswald, Tobias Kruse, Werner Mahler, Dawin Meckel, Thomas Meyer, Jordis Antonia Schlösser, Anne Schönhartig, Linn Schröder, Maurice Weiss, and Heinrich Völkel make a visual inventory of this microcosm between clichés and reality, run-down buildings and splendour, commerce and science, decline and new beginnings. An exploration of the constant change, special quality, and the myths of the Zoo district. The exhibition is open-air in front of Amerika Haus.
