No Apologies: EXG Summer Party

Join Exgirlfriend in celebrating the release of our official t-shirt design for 2018 with unlimited beer and music sets from DJ friends of the gallery. At first, we designed our T-shirt as a stance: that we will not apologize for our presence or the spaces we insist on carving out for ourselves. Then, the First Lady of the United States wore a crappy army jacket to a kids prison and we decided nope — we cannot pretend to be an island. In light of that news, we decided the t-shirt stays the same, but all the profits made by the t-shirt (including the event attendance) will 100% go to RAICES. What is RAICES? From their website:
"Parents separated from their children at the border (and other immigrants placed in detention) can’t get released from ICE custody to reunite with their families until they pay the full amount of their immigration bond. Bonds are set at a MINIMUM of $1500, and are usually in the range of $5-10K, even for asylum seekers without any criminal history.
Unlike in the criminal system, bail bond companies either do not help people in immigration proceedings or impose very strict requirements, like private ankle monitors (which families have to pay to “rent”).
Donate to our fund to directly support legal services for detained separated parents and the direct funding for bonds to get parents release"
Entry is 5 euros, and drinks will be free until the keg is tapped. We will be together inside the main gallery, as well as in our outdoor area, weather-permitting. Exgirlfriend would like to thank you for your continuous support, and we hope you will come share a drink with our team and donate some real change to people in need at the No Apologies: EXG Summer Party
Please RSVP on our FB event so we can know how much booze to buy.
