LAUNCH + TALK | JOSEPHINE APRAKU: HOW CAN WE COUNTER RACISM AND TAKE RADICAL RESPONSIBILITY?

Moderated by Angelo Camufingo

In her*his work as a trainer for intersectional anti-racism educational work, Josephine Apraku repeatedly experiences that people want concrete instructions on how to counteract racism in everyday life actively. But there are no simple recipes in the fight against structural racism. Equally unrealistic are simple step-by-step instructions for resolving situations in which racism is being reproduced. Standing up against structural racism is hard work – on ourselves. Josephine Apraku calls on us to take “radical responsibility” for our own learning process and with the new workbook “My Workbook on Racism” and the flashcard set “Let talk about racism!« provides many important things for this.
What "radical responsibility" means, how we can actually put it into practice and what tools Josephine Apraku offers us in the fight against racism beyond simple 10-point plans, you can find out in the conversation between the author and Angelo Camufingo. Amanda Haas, designer of the workbook and the card set, will also be a guest. You are cordially invited to take part in the conversation yourself, ask questions, reflect and shape the evening together in the spirit of Oyoun.

The conversation lasts about 1,5 hours. Afterward, the Oyoun garden and café offer space to linger, deepen your knowledge and relax with cool drinks and good food.
