Land, Safety and Grief

“Land, Safety and Grief” is a collective art exhibition that attempts to explore the idea of lost land in an unstable world. It is organised by @mena.art.gallery and @untoldstories_com.

The artworks in this exhibition try to capture how one’s home is an integral part of oneself. This part, once lost, leaves a missing space, whether physically, verbally, or symbolically, a space that can’t be filled, only expressed.

The exhibition is part of the conference “She, He, and It”, about AI and journalism in the global South, happening on the same day (8.12.)

Artists were invited to use artificial intelligence in an attempt to test this tool’s limits, and its ability to add another layer and dimension of aesthetics.

The works presented reflect how artists question, test or play with AI as it expands the limits of artistic production and the artist’s abilities start a dialogue with a “semi- conscious- database of styles.”
