Heroines of Sound presents female artists from the fields of experimental pop, performance, techno and new music. A unique tray of contemporary electronic music, sound and performance art juxtaposes the pioneers of early electronic music. In the frame of the festival a public panel discussion with artists, scientists and composers seeks to expand musical and aesthetic perspectives on electronic music with an examination of gender-specific implications, focusing on questions of contemporary reception aesthetics in the charged field between the historiographies of music and technology and their cultural dispositives.
