From October 2018 to January 2019, within the framework of the Artist-In-Residence program held annually at Operndorf Afrika, artists from Berlin and Bamako have worked together in order to produce artworks engaging with different types of art medias, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, film and music. The finished artworks were then shown at the exhibition of Donkôkéné last November at Operndorf.
A German Subtitle, is about the re-contextualisation of the artworks developed in Operndorf into a new environment and context. This reinterpreted exhibition will be held at the BUNKER Wiensowski & Harbord art gallery in Berlin. The new cultural context thus becomes the “subtitle” for this exhibition.
