 Delia Jürgens: Reflections

REFLECTIONS examines the boundaries between private and public spaces and deals with the gaps between these online / offline realities, in particular with the question of how a connection can be made across the gap between physical and digital realms that amount to a physical, haptic encounter using the metaphor of the forest.

The exhibition consists of three parts of the Fragmented Landscape The Future is but a Second away -WALD: a physical exhibition, a resulting digital work and translation into a digital architecture and a final subsequent presentation of these components on advertising displays. These three parts will be brought together at Gallery Gregor Nothelfer to access the link of all together while presenting Jürgens approach of contemporary painting beyond the medium in its post-medium production connecting questions of the informel movement.

The bridge between analog and digital art is also expanded by the presentation of works from European post-war abstraction. The "Informel" generation dealt particularly intensively with the theme of matter, fragmentation and overlay and the resulting ephemeral and transient. In the gallery's "Kabinett", paintings and works on paper by K.F. Dahmen, Georges Noël, Emil Schumacher and Fred Thieler are shown, inviting further reflection on the relation between contemporary positions and immediate postwar art.

Delia Jürgens (*1986 in Hanover), lives and works between Hannover, Cologne and Los Angeles.
