Alana Richards presents the first public showing of recent radical changes in her approach to painting. Two large format works create a palpable friction as they each vie for our attention. Powerful Hellenic sculpture is contrasted with lithe androgyny - the battered yet stoic endurance of antiquity versus the pleading expressions of fragile, contemporary youth.

Taken individually, the works suggest polarised views of permanence and mortality but viewed together, a dialogue is nevertheless established, provoking thoughts concerning the inevitable passage of time. The affinity between the two is surprisingly strong, greater than the sum of its parts.
