Open around the clock

This year we are holding the joint exhibition artspring signale in a hybrid format in the Verwalterhaus of the Initiative Kulturkapellen. How? The Verwalterhaus is a very special institution: scarred walls, traces of the past. A place out of time and decelerated, located on the cemetery St. Marien/St. Nicolai and played by the ag Friedhofsmuseum e.V. as a cultural venue. And currently closed for events due to pandemic. The exhibition artspring signale will therefore take place partially digitally. That means:
We bring the works into the house and document this process. On display will be paintings and sculptures by artists from all over the greater Pankow district who participated in the open studios as part of artspring berlin. The exhibition will be visible from the outside: Via a QR code, which is attached to the house, all visitors:inside can view the exhibition on their own smartphone in each case. To visit this exhibition, one must therefore actually go to the site and receive the signals from the house individually.

There will be a "real" installation in the outdoor space: Artists Marula Di Como and Birgit Szepanski have developed a site-specific and interactive installation that references both the cemetery and the historic Jonass department store across the street. Furthermore, an audio station of the artspring artwalk is located in the showcase in front of the building.
