The new you-we-me
The new you-we-me
Photography plays a crucial role in our lives. Memories and mental images are like a form of photography. We speak in images. Our lips shape them and our minds embody them. I create an image. You see it and form your own picture of it. We live through images, and dialogue is inevitable. But how does the other perceive visually? How does the photographic image function in the present? Do we still trust images, our interpretation of them? If images are no longer reliable, then what is their task? Is there silence in the visual, and what makes a beautiful image? Do images create closeness or distance from people and things, and how is this visually expressed? How do we grasp tensions and reference points? Images explore the in-between spaces of transformation and the relationship between identity and society. This creates, asserts, even manipulates reality. Using the medium of photography, this exhibition explores the private and public sides to human existence in today’s world, inviting a dialogue that consciously focuses on the nuances of life.
