Some Ghost Notes
Between-beats or ghost-notes are made with very muted strokes. Beats, mainly on rythm instruments. (drums, percussion) are played and make a rythm that lends more towards a groove than a beat. However, with inexperienced listeners it is often not consciously perceived, that they fulfill an important task. Ghost-notes, or dead-notes are specifically used by drummers and percussionists to give the rhythm more depth and richness
Five artists from Scotty Enterprises display works in the exhibition that show how they associate to rhythm.
