Painting Forever! Franz Ackermann – Hills and Doubts
Franz Ackermann (b. 1963 in Neumarkt-St. Veit, Germany), whose work includes painting, drawing, and installations, has for more than fifteen years now been one of the world’s most important contemporary artists.
His works are included in numerous public collections. For the Berlinische Galerie, the artist developed a special spatial concept combining wall painting, panel pictures, and photography. Visual axes play an important role here, as well as paths through the building, spatial dimensions, and the technical devices that can be found on the floors, walls, and ceilings of exhibition spaces.
