Guerilla Performance taking place in a context by COMMON AFFAIRS—Revisiting the VIEWS Award—Contemporary Art from Poland, 17 + 18 SEP 2016

On the occasion of the VIEWS Award exhibition in 2011 Konrad Smoleński presented his video “Energy Hunters”. The video was made in Santa Monica featuring members of the noise rock band Foot Village. Shot in an out-of-the-way place, the video consists of sequences showing the California wilderness and the musicians as actors, creating a sensitive image of the interplay of sound, performance, and image. For Berlin Art Week, Smoleński returns to Energy Hunters, and links it with his audio-performative project BNNT to a new work. Key here is that the performance takes place outside the usual exhibition spaces and the city centre.
