For her solo show Ich bin die Stimme aus deinem Kissen (engI.: I am the voice inside your pillow) presented at Kleine Humboldt Galerie, Marja Marlene Lechner displays sculptures, drawings and videos. A performance by the artist will open the exhibition.

Finding one’s way in the world. We as humans are faced with this challenge each and every day. Marja Marlene Lechner’s works emerge from the need to cope with this fact through her art. She uses materials and motifs taken from everyday life, but defying it in her works nonetheless. Butterflies and paper planes meet shower curtains, vacuum wrappers, chicken wire and MDF. Some things move, much can be heard. The voice inside your pillow, it speaks. About itself, about you, about important things. About waking up and going to bed.

Marja Marlene Lechner (*1989) lives and works in Berlin. She received her fine arts degree at Berlin University of the Arts in 2016, where she studied with Prof. Robert Lucander.
