DADA - Africa Dialogue with the Other
For the 100th jubilee of the founding of Dada, Berlinische Galerie explores for the first time the Dadaist reception of non-European cultures and their art.
In five sections, around 100 works from collections in Germany and around the world will be presented. Dadaist works enter into direct dialogue with artefacts from Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
Selected artists: Hans Arp, George Grosz, John Heartfield, Raoul Hausmann, Erich Heckel, Hannah Höch, Man Ray, Hans Richter, Karl Schmidt-Rottluf.
The exhibition will be held under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Otto Lampe, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Switzerland and in Liechtenstein, and Her Excellency Christine Schraner Burgener, Swiss Ambassador to Germany.
