Anne Duk Hee Jordan in conversation with marine biologist Prof. Dr. Nicole Dubilier and lecture Charme ohne Darm — der Meereswurm Olavius algarvensis.

Nicole Dubilier, director of the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen, researches symbioses between bacteria and invertebrate marine animals. Her research has made a considerable contribution to our understanding of the interplay between the partners of such symbioses and their importance for the marine ecosystem.

Using her own voice, a trumpet and layers of evolving synthesizer recordings, Perera Elsewhere creates a complex and meandering audio landscape to accompany the magical images of self-reproducing worms. Limited visitor numbers. Two performances.

DISCUSSION: ON THE TRANSFORMATION OF DISGUST
Anne Duk Hee Jordan in conversation with the new director of the HKW, curator, author and biotechnologist Dr. Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung on worms and the work of the artist. They will discuss the socio-cultural meaning of the worm in society and possibilities for transforming disgust.

BECOMING WORM: PERFORMANCE WORKSHOPS
With actor and theatre pedagogue Anne-Marie von Löw
What worms away at you? What sort of worm are you? How does it feel to be a worm? How do we move when we suddenly become a worm? In a succession of workshops we will activate our senses and experiment with how it feels to squirm. Using sound and dance, we will enter into the world of the most ancient of all animals: the worm.
