At the center of the exhibition is a place of personal significance: an island. We call it the veiled island, for when it rains, it blends so seamlessly into its surroundings that it almost ceases to exist.

I have spent my summer months on islands since early childhood. Over time, these islands have become important points in my life, and the island in this exhibition refers collectively to all of them.

Surrounded by water, an island forms a world of its own, breathing in sync with the seasons and the weather. What matters is the island itself, surrounded by waves, rocky and rugged. It is simultaneously separate and isolated from the outside world, yet its connection to the environment remains ever strong. Together with other islands, it forms an archipelago.

The veiled island embodies continuous interaction with nature. Life is cyclic, and forces one to adapt to shifting conditions. Rain does not represent gloom, but instead it cleanses and blurs boundaries making the air  translucent and bringing it to life. The receding lines of the horizon appear in the artworks as colored memories and atmospheres. Multiple layers of color build bridges between the visible and the invisible. The island's light shines from within—in the same way nature brightens and begins to glow once the rain clears.

I invite visitors to step onto the island, a place where it is possible to reflect upon one's own experiences. I hope the paintings prompt the viewer to ask: what is your island, and what are you searching for on its shores?
