Apartment Project, one of the first artist initiatives of Turkey, was founded by Selda Asal in Istanbul in 1999 with the intention of keeping a record of the zeitgeist. Selda and Apartment Project eventually relocated to Berlin in 2012 and this space has been a living, production and exhibition space for artists and researchers ever since. Individuals that are involved in projects by Apartment Project are inevitably drawn to collaboration and co-production due to collective living conditions. Projects hosted by Apartment Project focuses on unique encounters of the individuals involved and the processes that emerge from their togetherness. It is safe to say that Apartment Project welcomes production in all kinds of media that contextual framework and the collaborations dictate.
