WHY: ['ri:miks] focuses on the acquisition and the reinterpretation of artistic work processes. Studios and workshops are places where art is created but usually not exhibited. In ['ri:miks] - T. Brinkmann , elements taken from the studio of Thorsten Brinkmann are combined with abstract forms in a simple unpretentious way before being transformed to a site-specific installation, which has been especially made for the OZEAN.

WHY: Judith Hopf’s latest module takes a closer look at a series of masks. Falke Pisano's second Rehearsal, subtitled 'Heart Head Hold-up', presents the film „Chillida (Forms & Feelings)“, which maps Pisano’s reactions to a series of photographs taken by David Finn of public works by the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida.

21.00 LETRA / TONE Festival @ Radialsystem V

21.00 Milena Jovicevic @ Das Gift

WHY: Through different techniques Milena Jovicevic expounds the problems of the gender ratio. In exuberant drawings and animations, she creates an unconventional and aggressively funny version of the story of Adam and Eve and Biblical theme of Genesis. Her story becomes a constant game of genders, interlacement of senses, wandering of imaginary through Eros as one of the possible paths of understanding and paths to the end. This exhibition is in conjunction with her show at ReTramp Gallery.

19.00 Quayola – Captives (finissage) @ Import Projects

WHY: Quayola’s exhibition explores modes of objecthood that traverse virtual and real space. The exhibition title references the best known of all unfinished sculptures, with the artist’s digitally conditioned representations of Michelangelo’s Prigoni staging a tension between completion and process. Though redeploying historical works, Captives foregrounds a series of contemporary shifts between mathematical and figurative description, situating objecthood upon a continuum lacking a natural beginning or end.

Import Projects / Keithstrasse 10, 10787 Berlin, U Wittenbergplatz / free entry / more info
