WHY: At Kantine am Berghain, Clara Hill will present her new album, "Pendulous Moon“, made in collaboration with King Britt. The Berlin based singer, songwriter and producer has shifted styles fluidly throughout her life, and in King Britt she found a likeminded soul. King Britt moves from House to Techno to Bass music, Hill from Acid Jazz to Psychedelic Folk - both in the space of independent electronic music. Support comes from R.A.N., dark ambient electronic act from Berlin/Istanbul.

WHY: ANOHNI is the lead singer from Antony and the Johnsons. She recently released „Hopelessness“, a dance record with soulful vocals and lyrics addressing surveillance, drone warfare, and ecocide. A radical departure from the singer’s symphonic collaborations, the album seeks to disrupt assumptions about popular music through the collision of electronic sound and highly politicized lyrics.

20.00 Ty Segall & The Muggers @ Columbia Theater Berlin

WHY: Garage punk/rock multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and record producer who doesn't need much introduction around here. We've seen him a few times in Berlin, with a lot of hype and anger over sold-out gigs, and we've seen a number of band described in comparison to him, or directly involved in some of his many projects. This time you'll get to see him on stage with The Muggers at Columbia Theater.

WHY: The top pop queen is paying a visit to Berlin when her Summer-y hits are most appreciated. For her Berlin gig Batuk & Louise Chen will be playing support. The concert is officially sold-out, but there are always plenty of ways to get an extra ticket.

20.00 Pre-3hd Festival: Aristophanes貍貓, Eartheater, AGF and Dis Fig @ HAU1

WHY: The second edition of 3hd Festival will take place across venues in Berlin from October 11 to 15, 2016. In anticipation of the five-day festival, the Pre-3hd Festival Event will feature live performances from Taipei based rapper and Grimes-collaborator Aristophanes貍貓, as well as New York based artist-musician Eartheater. Supporting the night are Finnish artist AGF and Berlin based producer Dis Fig, who will DJ at HAU restaurant, WAU, to follow.

20.00 Preoccupations + Plattenbau @ Urban Spree

WHY: The band formerly known as Viet Cong have announced their new name: moving forward, they will be known as Preoccupations. On their next gigs they will be previewing new material from a forthcoming record, which will be released this fall. Berlin-based postpunk force Plattenbau will play support.

22.00 Polymorphism #19 x Staycore @ Panorama Bar

WHY: Founded in 2014, Stockholm-based Staycore is pushing radical post-internet overkill and contemporary takes on global club sounds favouring dancehall, dembow, kuduro and soca grooves.  Staycore’s core roster – Toxe, mobilegirl, Mechatok, ALX9696, Dinamarca and Ghazal – comes together in Berlin for the first time in celebration of their new ‘Erelitha’ compilation.
