The Interns Diary (part 6)
The Interns Diary (part 6)
(the best live music so far... at Mauerpark)
Dear diary,
Please forgive me for talking so much about drinks… but I think that happens to you when you're living in Berlin….
Thirsty Fridays
My Friday night was a pub crawl of exhibition openings instead of pubs.
We started at Watchlist. A long walk for a small exhibition of paintings in a beautiful old factory with tasty prosecco. At a gallery on Heidemannstrasse we saw huge paintings, rich people and even more tasty prosecco.… Friedrichstrasse 17, broken floors, serving prosecco and art. The enormous golden paintings from Christian Triebsch were made for the building, and a drunk women on a mountain of stones from Hannes Gruber made it all so trashy chic.
We didn't spend more than 15 minutes at each opening and were more busy tasting the prosecco than looking at art...
Lazy Sundays
I'm still searching for the right bar with good drinks and live music. The best live music I have found so far is from the street musicians at the U-bahn station Stadtmitte or at the Mauerpark. Although Mauerpark isn't a bar, the beers, people and music make it feel like it's one. It's fun watching the karaoke but even more, watching the people sitting in front of the stage. It looks like an old school picture with every student in it, where you're always looking for hours to find yourself, or your best friend, or your the guy you had a crush on…
Timetravel...
In case you didn't noticed yet, the clock went an hour backwards. I woke up and looked at my phone to change the time… but this smart technology already changed it… they should have that for watches as well.. Luckily these are not mine…

I like going to the theater, but I am still reminded of my school visit to Berlin 5 years ago when we went to the Friedrichstadtpalast to see Casanova. My German skills were even worse than now (is that even possible?). I was sitting and watching and couldn't understand anything in the show. It was the most boring evening, even though the dancing was fantastic…
The same happened when watching a movie at Sputnik Kino… with no subtitles...and Kirsten Dunst having a different voice is so strange…
So on Sunday night I choose to go to the dance theater Amped at Uferstudios with no words used… it was great but I still couldn't understand what it was about….
