Painting Forever! JackQueenKingAce

This exhibition at Neue Nationalgalerie (JackQueenKingAce), featuring Martin Eder (b. 1968), Michael Kunze (b. 1961), Anselm Reyle (b. 1970) and Thomas Scheibitz (b. 1968), places these four central positions of contemporary painting in Germany in a joint context for the first time. The show places artistic approaches that might appear fundamentally different from one another at first glance in dialogue, examining both formal and thematic aspects. One central idea of the presentation is that the juxtaposition of works by such different artists has enormous potential to open up innovative ways of appraising contemporary painting in a less codified manner than we have known to date.
