LEBENSLINIEN (Lifelines) Photographies by Wang Yi

The exhibition Lebenslinien (Lifelines) at Galerie Bergwasser presents a cross-section of the impressions collected by artist Wang Yi on his travels in Tibet. The resulting photographic portraits show Tibetan mountain dwellers and the marks life has left on the faces of the people in this harsh environment.
Nowadays, lifelines, that is to say, the visibility of time in everything that surrounds us, are often hidden. Striving for perfection and attempting to turn back the clock are now almost the norm. Wang Yi’s photographs endeavor to counter this artificiality and superficiality.
