Klub Kube

Only from 11h-19h

Brunch on Sat 11th

Klub Kube is an Anglo-German collaboration of artists from Sheffield Hallam University and HBK Braunschweig supported by their respective tutors, Jaspar Joseph-Lester and Antonia Low. The group held an interactive/performative event with evolving installations of used cardboard boxes in a public University building in Sheffield. Video of the box interactions is included in the Klub Kube show at LoBe. Boxes are emblematic of the idealistic cube and grid in art and architecture, and more prosaically cardboard boxes are used pervasively as packaging in global commerce. The Braunsweig group has been on working on a theme of Hidden Spaces. The collaboration merges the ideas inherent in both projects, as well as the artists’ individual practices. The Klub Kube co-operative work includes an installation of a round table with unique sculptural chairs and relates the Wedding locality.
