Andreas Koch is the artist of the 4th edition of the format "HaL-Hofskulptur" at the exhibitions space Haus am Lützowplatz. Koch, whose works could already be seen in a solo exhibition at Haus am Lützowplatz in 2015, places the mock-up of a bus stop in the courtyard of the institution for half a year. By moving the bus-stop from the public space to a private inner courtyard, the artist eliminates the actual function of a bus shelter, the waiting, and creates a temporary exhibition space with various surfaces and displays that will be used by different artists throughout the year. The result is a scenography, a stage play, in which the exhibition visitor assumes the role of the waiting person.
The play with perception, reality and its representation, which repeatedly appears in Koch's artistic work, is given a theatrical, but also curatorial component. Andreas Koch, who ran the Galerie Koch and Kesslau in Berlin-Mitte from 1996 to 2004 and who also curates the parallel running exhibition entitled "Entering, Permanent, World, Attrappe" at the Studiogalerie of Haus am Lützowplatz together with Peter K. Koch, brings together works here and there that balance the relationships between object and art and shift the boundaries between reality and image into one another.
