„...His visual language is generated in the pixellated stream of cyberspace. His schematic figures, which recall stereotypes from the media and advertising reality, consist of various individual components, which seem to float abysmally and unstably in indefinable pictorial spaces. Their visually heterogeneous composition of illusionist and abstract elements, of strikingly outlined basic geometric shapes, of gestural marks and coincidental structures strengthens the impression of their disjointedness with respect to their own constitution. Torn from the virtual imagery of cyberspace (image) and relocated in the concrete materiality of the painting (picture), the figures in Fobbe's paintings experience a conflict, which can be transferred reversely to the viewers (and the creator) of these paintings...“
