At the center of the exhibition is a newly produced video installation by Christian Jankowski, dealing with the artificiality of legend creation.

Jankowski is fascinated by the blurring of historical reconstruction in the reenactment format of contemporary historical period TV dramas. In the rooms of HaL, the film will be framed by large-format theater paintings, created by Jankowski for the theater piece „Kippenberger! – Ein Exzess des Moments" [an excess of the moment] staged by Angela Richter at Schauspiel Köln.
