Appropriating Language #11 - Around Kubin

The life and artwork of the draughtsman, printmaker and author Alfred Kubin (1877 -1959) provides essential  material for a dialogue in the exhibition at Manière Noire. Artists and writers Herbert Christian Stöger (Linz) and Jörn Gerstenberg (Berlin) are the protagonists of this dialogue. Kubin’s images illustrate the dawn of the cruel catastrophes of the 20th century, scars and ruins carved in the collective consciousness. The pictures, texts and video-installations presented in the show reveal comments to that period seen through the "Kubin prism".

Extended opening times Friday and Saturday from 15.00 to 19.00 and by appointment
