A Body is an Archive

Karol Radziszewski, Kisieland, 2012. 16:9, Film Still, Single-Channel Video, Stereo Sound, Colour, 30'

Artist talk and follow-up conversation with artist Karol Radziszewski and curator Zofia Nierodzińska in the framework of the D’EST Curatorial Summit

There are crucial (arte)facts hidden from the official historical narrative; Polish artist and activist Karol Radziszewski is looking for them by speaking with those whose voices were kept silent. He calls it performing the archive, but someone else could call it an encounter. He is looking for his queer ancestors, not bound by family ties, through following the footsteps of some-bodies left as they were performing their uncommon lives.
