MONDAY 02.05

20.30 Shameless/Limitless: Promise Keeper + Bobbypin (ex TOPS) @ Loophole

WHY: Googling „Promise Keeper“ will likely lead you to pages dedicated to a Christian organisation for men. As this is clearly not what you were looking for (or if it is we do not judge) we would suggest to skip the research and go see the London-based musician peforming his „suprise pop“ live. Bobbypin is the pop project of Alana Marta DeVito; early electronic/synth next to classic & experimental pop arrangements topped with sparkle & haze. For this wonderful double gig we will be giving away free tickets, so keep checking our www in the following days.

Loophole / Boddinstrasse 60, 12053 Berlin, U7 Rathaus Neukölln / more info

WEDNESDAY 04.05

20.00 Kometenmelodien: Gaika + Ben Jackson + DREEA @ Kantine am Berghain

WHY: Gaika converts the hyper-real urban chaos of London into glitchy, otherworldly collages; his combinations of grime and garage with dancehall, hip-hop, and R&B are set against a gothic, fetishistic, streetwear-oriented visual aesthetic. Ben Jackson takes rhythmic structures from the bass/ trap/ footwork/ ballroom continuum and brings them into unfamiliar emotional territory. DJ, artist and writer DREEA rounds  up the evening with selection of adventurous rugged styles of music.

Kantine am Berghain / Am Wriezener Bahnhof, 10243 Berlin, S+U Warschauer Str. / more info

WEDNESDAY 04.05

20.00 XJAZZ @ Various locations

WHY: XJAZZ is not-only-jazz festival presenting bands and projects that differ in style but have a common connection with Berlin, and hosting them in venues varying from a church to a nightclub. You will likely find a gig that suits your taste, but our suggestion is to try out a random pick; the selection is pretty much fail-safe.

Various locations / ongoing until 08.05 / more info

THURSDAY 05.05

20.30 Ghost Tape XI @ Uferstudios

WHY: gamut inc, run by Marion Wörle and Maciej Sledziecki, present the restage of their first music theatre piece, „Ghost TapeXI“. In „Ghost TapeXI“, Marion and Maciej let the sound-shadows talk. They speak about the dark side of music distribution in which science, belief, conspiration and speculation enmesh to a grotesque spectacle. About the bipolar nature of sirens. And finally about what Doris Day has in common with the atomic bomb.

Uferstudios, Studio 14 / Uferstr. 8/23, 13357 Berlin, U Pankstr. / more info

SATURDAY 07.05

21.00 OXYT – Under the Warehouse

WHY: An echt Berlin setting: two bunker-tunnels, arches and a maze of underground pathways are forming the scenery of the next OXYT. Discover one of the last of such hidden, literally underground venues, hosting a party with Distant Echoes (Dystopian), Edward (Giegling), Shall Ocin (Ellum), Somne (Nonplus / Life And Death), and Dasha Redkina (Arma17). Additionally, OXYT sets up a one-night art exhibition, „Sound Is A Brain Illusion“, which fuses contemporary art, photography, visuals and lights.
