Music Tips 14.04 - 27.04

20.00 Jam City + Jack Chosef + Joey Hansom @ Kantine am Berghain

WHY: Since 2010, Jack Latham published forward thinking, sound system compatible music under his alias Jam City. With his upcoming album "Dream A Garden" he deepened his approach to the songwriting, which can already be heard in the first single "Unhappy". In October 2014 Jam City presented his live set for the first time at the Unsound Festival, before bringing it now to Kantine am Berghain.

WHY: Cloudface has gained a reputation for displaying masterful control of his drum machines and synthesizers while performing live at various Vancouver music events and at festivals such as Mutek and New Forms. Excursions into the realms of ambience-soaked, contemplative techno is the simplest way to describe what to expect music–wise thisThursday at ACUD.

TUESDAY 21.04

21.00 Torstrassen Festival Warm-up: Night Musik + Deaths @ ACUD MACHT NEU

WHY: Night Musik is the new solo project by composer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Shub Roy. His album “Transit” was written, recorded and produced during two years on the road. The cinematic atmospheres of the resulting LP distill shades of techno, acid, industrial, ambient (while never falling back on the conventions of just one) and even conjure the repetitive, mechanical rhythms and hums of vehicles.

21.00 A Place To Bury Strangers + zZz @ Lido Berlin

WHY: A Place To Bury Strangers are a NYC-based noise trio playing heavy, atmospheric wall of sound-influenced blend of psychedelic rock, shoegaze and space rock. After three years the band is returning to Germany with  their newly released (fourth) album „Transfixiation“, which apparently sounds different than their previous. Certainly worth checking both old and new APTBS sound live.
